No tax fields on the bill
Turn the tax columns off and the invoice shows what it should: your items, the quantities, the rate and the total. Nothing to explain to a customer who asks what CGST is doing on their bill.
Non-GST invoicing
Not registered under GST? You still need professional bills. Create simple invoices without tax complications, and keep the option to switch on GST the day you register.
What you get
Turn the tax columns off and the invoice shows what it should: your items, the quantities, the rate and the total. Nothing to explain to a customer who asks what CGST is doing on their bill.
Designers, tutors, consultants, kirana counters and stall holders bill the same way here: fast, clear and without a GSTIN you do not have.
Put your business name, logo, payment terms and bank or UPI details on the invoice, so it looks like it came from a business, not from a notebook.
See what is paid, what is pending and who owes you, without a single tax report you do not have to file.
Download a clean PDF or send it on WhatsApp the moment the work is done, which is usually the moment you are most likely to get paid.
Yes. An unregistered business can and should give its customers a proper bill: your business name and address, a bill number, the date, the customer, the items and the total. What it must not do is charge GST or show a GSTIN, because it is not allowed to collect tax.
In non-GST mode the tax fields come off the bill entirely, so there is no empty GSTIN box or zero tax line to confuse a customer.
You can print that bill in your own language too. Setup offers ten Indian languages, and each label can carry the English beside it.
For most businesses, once turnover crosses Rs 40 lakh a year if you only sell goods, or Rs 20 lakh if you provide services. The limits are lower in some states, and certain businesses must register whatever their turnover, such as those selling goods to other states. Your CA can confirm which applies to you.
Turnover here means the total for the financial year across the business, so a freelancer with several clients adds all of them together.
Switch the business to GST mode in Setup and enter your GSTIN and state once. From then on new bills carry the tax breakup, while every bill you issued before stays exactly as it was. There is no second app to move to and nothing to re-enter.
Your customers, items and history carry over. Only the new bills change.
Free to start, INR 2,500 or INR 5,000 a year.
