A different GST rate on each item
Set the rate per item once; a mixed basket is split correctly on every bill.
For bakeries and sweet shops
A bakery counter sells bread, cakes, namkeen and cold drinks in the same basket, and they do not all carry the same GST rate. The bill has to get each line right while the Diwali queue is out the door.
What you get
Set the rate per item once; a mixed basket is split correctly on every bill.
Set the unit each item is sold in, so the bill reads the way you sell.
Tap items from the grid, take the payment, print. No tax screens at the counter.
Track what each regular customer or party order owes against their phone number.
Set a low-stock level on fast movers and see what is running out.
Because the rate follows the product, not the shop. A bakery basket often mixes items that carry different GST rates, and a single shop-wide rate either overcharges some customers or underpays tax on other lines. Set each item's rate once and every mixed basket is split correctly.
GST rates on food items have changed more than once since 2017, so take the rate for each of your products from your CA rather than from an old bill book, and update the item in Setup if the rate changes again.
If your prices already include tax, mark them as tax-inclusive. The counter keeps using the price printed on the shelf and the bill shows the breakup.
Put your top sellers at the front of the grid, keep the categories short, and use Hold for the customer who is still choosing sweets while you bill the next one. A bill should take three taps and a payment, with the receipt printing while the box is packed.
Diwali boxes, Raksha Bandhan and wedding orders turn a normal day into a queue. The counter needs to stay about items and totals, with no tax screens, no forms, and no waiting for the internet.
Raise the bill against the customer's phone number and record what they paid. Whatever is left stays on their account in the party ledger until it is settled, and the ledger shows every customer who still owes you, so nobody has to keep a separate udhaar book.
Regular caterers and families who order every festival become easy to look up by phone number, with their past bills attached.
Check the day's sales against cash in the drawer and UPI received, then note the day's expenses: flour, sugar, gas, packaging and wages. The report shows sales, expenses and what is left, and the stock list shows which fast movers need ordering for tomorrow.
Low-stock alerts are set per item, so the ones that run out by evening, such as bread, rusk or a best-selling sweet, flag themselves before the shelf is empty.
If you have a second counter or an owner who checks from home, the Pro plan covers three devices on one account.
Free to start, INR 2,500 or INR 5,000 a year.
