GST billing
Stop worrying about tax calculations and compliance rules. The software handles CGST, SGST and IGST automatically, so the bill your customer receives and the figures your accountant sees are the same numbers.
What you get
Auto-calculate taxes based on where the customer is. Inside your state the bill splits into CGST and SGST, across a state border it becomes IGST, and union territories are handled correctly too.
Each item carries its HSN or SAC code and rate, so the tax split on the bill and in the export is the same one your CA files from.
Create a credit note against the original bill in a few taps. It carries that invoice's number and date on its face and inherits its tax treatment, which is what the rules require.
Hand your accountant a clean export of invoices, credit notes and the tax breakup, instead of a photo of the bill book at the end of the quarter.
Every issued document is kept as an immutable record, so your tax history cannot be quietly edited after the fact and nothing is lost when a phone is.
It raises tax invoices that carry everything the GST rules ask for, works out CGST, SGST or IGST on every line from the customer's state, numbers each document in its own series, and keeps the records your CA files from. You enter your tax details once; after that billing is items and a total.
The part that saves the most time is not the arithmetic, it is consistency. The bill the customer gets, the report you read and the export your CA uses all come from the same calculation, so they never disagree.
Returns are handled with credit notes against the original bill rather than by editing it, which keeps the record straight for GST.
Your tax invoices can print in Hindi, Marathi or eight other Indian languages, with the English beside each label if your customers read both.
Under Rule 46 of the CGST Rules, a tax invoice needs your name, address and GSTIN, a unique serial number for the financial year, the date, the buyer's details (and GSTIN if registered), HSN or SAC codes, quantities, taxable value, the tax rate and amount, place of supply for inter-state sales, and a signature.
The serial number can be up to 16 characters and must be consecutive within its series, which is why the app numbers each document type separately and never reuses a number.
If you and the buyer are in the same state, the tax splits equally into CGST and SGST. If the place of supply is in another state, the whole amount is IGST. Union territories without a legislature use UTGST in place of SGST. The app decides this from the customer's state, so nobody at the counter has to.
Delhi, Puducherry and Jammu and Kashmir have legislatures, so they levy SGST, not UTGST. It is a detail that is easy to get wrong by hand and that the app handles for you.
A list of every invoice and credit note for the period with the taxable value and tax split, in a file your CA can open. The app exports it from the records screen, so the end-of-quarter photo of the bill book is no longer part of the process.
On the Pro plan, GST summary reports add up the month by rate and by tax type, which is the shape your CA needs for the return.
